I think it’s safe to say that deliverance can be scary. A new and unknown path can lead to the questioning of our faith. A persistent enemy and an abrupt change of circumstances can lead to the doubting of our rescue. We may even wonder if our Leader has our best intentions in mind or if He is leading us on a path towards wayward destruction.
The Israelites couldn’t see the “the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” because they were too busy focusing on the instability of their current circumstances. (Psalm 27:3) I think we can say the same thing about ourselves. At least, I know I can.
